Massa Lubrense
Massalubrense is situated in the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula. This area has always fascinated visitors including writers, filosophers, artists and poets for hundreds of years, infact, going back to Roman times. Its natural beauty is still intact, centuries old olive groves, a mild climate and spectacular views of craggy cliffs and the deep blue sea all combine together to make this area so special.
In and around Massalubrense are pine forests, green hillsides crossed over by age old paths, whereas the beautiful coastline is a treasure of coves, bays and inlets. Some can be reached by nature trails or paths through the wild countryside, others can be admired from the sea during a boat trip.
The weather is mild almost all year, which makes it ideal for a holiday at any time of the year.
During the year there are various local fairs and feasts where local products are available for purchase There are many religious festivals including the celebrations of the Patron Saints of the villages, and colourful religious processions which show the great importance of customs and tradition in this area, which are centuries old.
Sorrento
The city of the Mermaids, has been famous as far back as Roman times for attracting people to its beautiful scenery and mild climate.
Punta della Campanella
The Marine Park and Natural Reserve of Punta della Campanella is a strip of rocky land which actually divides the waters of the Bay of Naples from the Bay of Salerno. The paths and nature trails are many and weave in and out of the inside of the Park crossing over unspoiled nature to arrive at archaeological sites, immersed in the immensely beautiful scenery.
For those who love trecking and walking, it is possible to follow nature trails from easy to difficult levels.
In the Reserve there are also many archaeological finds, and wreckages of greek and roman boats, telling us something of the glorious greek-roman past in this part of the South of Italy. Here can be found also many different types of marine life ranging from multicoloured gorgonie and sponges, to a variety of local fish such as white beam and grey mullet or grouper and sardines which represent only a small part of the underwater life. Underwater divers who choose to dive in the protected area of Punta della Campanella can book with the Secretary of the Park.
Capri
Holiday haven of the rich and famous, Capri is divided into 3 levels, Anacapri, Capri Town and the Port of Capri. The “Jewel in the Bay” is probably one of the most famous islands in the world, with its steep and rugged coastline, its Villas and Palaces of great archaeological value, and the Blue Grotto, Faraglioni Rocks and, of course, the exclusive shops in Capri town.
Positano
One of the wonderful towns along the Amalfi Coast, and probably the best known. Positano is another gem found, in all its splendour, amongst the breathtaking natural scenery of the Amalfi Coast. Origins going back to ancient times, now the town, with its picturesque pink and white villas, is well known for its fabulous views, charming boutiques and Positano Fashion.
Amalfi
Once a maritime republic, Amalfi boasts a very beautiful Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Andrew and dating back to the 9th Century. The Cathedral shows Arab and Norman influences and has a magnificent stairway going up to its impressive bronze doors which were made in 1066a.d. Now the town attracts many tourists to admire the beautiful views, go on boat trips along the coast and enjoy the particularly mild climate
